BUILT IN 1888, THIS GRADE II-LISTED THEATRE BRINGS STORIES TO LIFE BENEATH ITS GRAND PROSCENIUM ARCH, AND NOW PLAYS HOST TO ANAÏS MITCHELL’S AWARD-WINNING MUSICAL JOURNEY TO THE UNDERWORLD AND BACK.

With over 900 seats across Stalls, Dress Circle, Upper Circle and Balcony, the Lyric offers a truly intimate connection to the story unfolding on stage. Whether it’s your first time or a long-awaited return, we can’t wait to welcome you.

Monday – Saturday: 7:30pm

Thursday & Saturday Matinees: 2:30pm

Sunday Matinees: 3pm*
*14th September, 21st September and 26th October 2025 there will be additional Sunday performances at 7.30pm. Matinee performances on these dates will start at 2.30pm.

(Running time: approx. 2 hours 30 minutes including interval)

Doors open 45 minutes before the performance time.

Bars and kiosks: Available on all levels, open pre-show and during interval

Children under 4 will not be admitted and any children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

We recommend arriving at the Lyric Theatre at least 30 minutes before the performance starts to allow time for security checks, finding your seat, and soaking up the atmosphere.

Small bags are welcome, but larger items such as suitcases and backpacks may not be permitted inside the auditorium. Bag checks are in operation, so please allow extra time on arrival.

Yes, bars and kiosks are available throughout the theatre, serving drinks and snacks before the show and during the interval. Please note that only drinks in plastic cups may be taken into the auditorium.

Official Hadestown merchandise is available to purchase at the theatre before the show, during the interval, and after the performance. A selection is also available online via our shop.

Latecomers will be admitted at a suitable break in the performance. To avoid missing any of the show, we strongly recommend arriving on time.
